CHIEF MASTERING ENGINEER
Mike Cervantes is a professional mastering engineer working with GRAMMY™, Latin GRAMMY™, and Dove Award-nominated & winning artists. His work has been nominated for Twelve Dove Awards and has mastered a half-dozen BILLBOARD #1 radio singles.
Mike's journey began as a musician. By the age of 15, he played 4 different instruments and was playing in Jazz Band, Marching Band, a College level Symphonic band, 2 Praise Bands at Church and a rock band formed by his friends. When Mike was 16, he got his first paid gig to record a band that he found on the internet (PureVolume.com) and began his journey as an audio engineer. For 10 years, Mike produced and mixed local, regional and national touring bands that were signed to indie labels, featured on MTV2 & MuchMusic, and played on various radio stations.
After a decade as a "loyal studio rat", an opportunity came up to apprentice and learn under renowned GRAMMY™ winning mastering engineer Hank Williams at Mastermix in Nashville, TN. Under Hank's mentorship, Mike got to learn the art of mastering and hear hit songs by Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, and also view the mastering session of the smash hit "This Is How We Roll" by Florida Georgia Line.
After his time with Hank, Mike moved to New York City to apprentice for GRAMMY™ nominated mastering engineer Scott Hull at Masterdisk in Manhattan. At Masterdisk, Mike assisted on sessions for Dave Matthew's Band & Sting's The Last Ship on Broadway and viewed digital & vinyl mastering sessions for Snarky Puppy and Slipknot. He quickly moved up to "mastering engineer" and built his clientele while working out of Scott's world-class mastering room.
After Masterdisk, Mike opened his own mastering studio (The Foxboro) where he masters songs for some of the biggest names in Christian Music, Canadian Country Music, and Pop Artists featured in commercials for brands such as Under Armor, Samsung, Netflix, and HBO. He has earned a reputation for delivering "expertly" mastered songs and being "one of the nicest mastering engineers around". Mike truly loves music and loves working on any genre that is thrown his way making sure that everyone sounds their absolute best.
